Nick Garcia
Producer + DJ

[Hover For Bio↓]

Born in Tehran and raised between Iran and California, Ardalan developed an eclectic musical identity shaped by traditional Iranian music, classic jazz, gangsta rap, and Italo disco. Settling permanently in the Bay Area in 2006, he found his way into the underground house and techno scene before a fateful San Francisco BBQ folded him into the Dirtybird family. His early studio work with Justin Martin produced "Mr. Spock," a track widely credited as one of the records that defined Dirtybird's reputation for ridiculous, dance floor-ready music. Since then, he's released on Toy Tonics, Play It Down, Yoshitoshi, and Dirtybird, and performed at Coachella, CRSSD, Dirtybird Campout, Desert Hearts, Space Miami, and more.

Part Time Tough Guy is the DJ project of lan Schutt - founder of Hotbed, a San Diego-based events, promotion, and editorial platform dedicated to building real infrastructure for underground electronic music. Since launching Hotbed alongside a full-time career, Schutt has produced and promoted shows across San Diego, co-produced NoSurf Fest's electronic stage when organizers tapped Hotbed to book and produce it, and built a platform that has hosted and spotlighted some of the city's most forward-thinking artists. Behind the decks, PTTG's sets move through a 125-140 BPM range that doesn't commit to a single lane, a reflection of someone who came up behind the camera shooting concerts across Colorado before ever touching a mixer. His bookings include MCASD's Jazz Night After Hours, supporting Demi Riquísimo and KETTAMA, and sharing a bill with Detroit in Effect.
